On 12th March, 2001, Smt. Sutapa Chowdhury & Shri Supriya Chowdhury founded Holy Mission English Medium School at New Alipore in South Kolkata. Since then, Sutapa Chowdhury has been working as the founder-principal and Supriya Chowdhury has been working as the rector. The school was founded with the “holy mission” of educating and enabling 1st generation learners.
It began with only six students and 4 committed teachers. It is run by the Holy Mission Education Society. An English-medium and co-educational School, Holy Mission has played a significant role in the social and intellectual development of 1st generation learners within the city.
From the very beginning, the school has promoted excellence in academics, co-curricular activities & creativity and has made legendary progress in all fields by all standards. The School grew from strength to strength with new buildings and many more students and teachers. Holy Mission English Medium School is affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. It is now a growing family comprising of nearly 1200 students, 60 teachers and 20 non-teaching staff-members.
